核受体 (Nuclear Receptors) 是一类负责感应类固醇、甲状腺激素、维生素等分子的蛋白质。核受体对动物具有特异性,因此不存在于原生生物、藻类、真菌或植物中。人类中有47个核受体。这些细胞内受体与其他蛋白质一起调节特定基因的表达,从而控制生物体的发育、稳态和代谢。核受体与其他类别受体的区别在于它们对基因组DNA的直接控制。因此,这些受体被归类为转录因子。核受体对基因表达的调节通常发生在配体存在的情况下。配体与核受体的结合导致构象变化,激活受体。结果是基因表达的上调或下调。核受体在胚胎发育和成体稳态中都起着关键作用。
