Agomelatine (S-20098) L(+)-Tartaric acid is a specific agonist of MT1 and MT2 receptors (Kis: 0.1, 0.06, 0.12, and 0.27 nM for CHO-hMT1, HEK-hMT1, CHO-hMT2, and HEK-hMT2). It also is a selective 5-HT2C receptor antagonist (pKis: 6.4 and 6.2 at native (porcine) and cloned (human) 5-HT2C receptors).
L-ascorbic acid 2-phosphate can be used as a culture medium supplement for the osteogenic differentiation of human adipose stem cells (hASCs). L-ascorbic acid 2-phosphate increases alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity and expression of runx2A in hASCs during the osteogenic differentiation. L-ascorbic acid 2-phosphate is a long-acting vitamin C derivative that can stimulate collagen formation and expression.
L-Diguluronic acid, a linear polysaccharide copolymer consisting of two L-guluronic acid (G) units, serves as a precursor for Alginate[1], a categorically unbranched polyanionic polysaccharide. Alginate finds application in the development of antifungal agent delivery carriers[2].
Vanilmandelic acid, L-(+)- is a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of artificial vanilla flavorings and is an end-stage metabolite of the catecholamines, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. It is produced via intermediary metabolites.
L-Glutamic acid-15N is the 15N-labeled version of L-Glutamic acid, an excitatory neurotransmitter and an agonist at metabotropic, kainate, NMDA, and AMPA glutamate receptor subtypes. It directly activates the release of dopamine (DA) from dopaminergic terminals.
4-Methylumbelliferyl-α-L-iduronide (free acid) is a fluorogenic substrate for α-L-iduronidase, an enzyme found in cell lysosomes that is involved in the degradation of glycosaminoglycans such as dermatan sulfate and heparin sulfate. 4-Methylumbelliferyl-α-L-iduronide is cleaved by α-L-iduronidase to release the fluorescent moiety 4-methylumbelliferyl (4-MU). 4-MU fluorescence is pH-dependent with excitation maxima of 320 and 360 nm at low (1.97-6.72) and high (7.12-10.3) pH, respectively, and an emission maximum ranging from 445 to 455 nM, increasing as pH decreases. This substrate is used in assays that measure the activity of α-L-iduronidase, which is commonly deficient in a type of lysosomal storage disease called mucopolysaccharidosis.
